1. Amazing encyclopedia of everything Bloodborne
   I got lucky with undamaged hard cover book. This is literally everything there’s in Bloodborne. Every single item, weapons, NPC, bosses etc etc. There are nice arts, interviews with creators included. There are really no negatives I could think of. The only is maybe if you’re a huge fan of already, there’s really nothing new you haven’t seen. This is just a really nice collection of everything.

2. Extensive Beautiful Guide
   My first time experiencing a guide of this quality and man this is intense! Anything and everything you could ask for in a guide about Bloodborne. If you are looking for the best guide for a good price look no further. Also includes information on the DLC.

3. Poor conditions
   The Guide looks great, but for something so special and unique it arrived in poor conditions, the packaging didn’t have any protection, it was just cardboard box and no bubble wrap or something like that that would protect it from any problem during shipping.

4. Brilliant book for a brilliant game
   I have the original guides to the base game and Old Hunters DLC. I have read through and admired them for years. They have become quite pricey and a priceless collector’s item for the fans of this revolutionary game or appreciators of quality guides in general.
   While buying the first editions together might cost over $500, Future Press did fans of Bloodborne a great service by offering a second chance to pick these works of art up for a fraction of that price in these “anniversary” editions….Dark Souls Compendium and now Bloodborne. Keep ’em coming!!
   What is not cool is receiving both new copies of brilliant art pieces badly damaged. Whether it be due to Jeff and Ms. Sanchez playing tackle football with my books or inexcusably poor packaging before shipment, it is clear where the fault lies.
   This is my revised review. What I find amusing is Amazon turned away my first review lamenting at the damage when, as any reader can plainly see, so many others saying the exact same and offering nothing on a review of the great product got posted.
   Naturally, one has to ask why the discrimination? And how trusty are these product reviews when I have to assume Amazon selectively weeds out truthful negative reviews?

5. It’s a fine strategy guide, but a disappointing “Strategy Guide”
   It’s a really well designed and quality printed strategy guide, but that’s very much ALL it is—a guide to getting through the game.
   Going by the size of the book and the advertised description, I expected it to have an encyclopedic aspect to it, clarifying/expanding the lore as the guide progresses, supported by developer interviews specifically for the book. The kind of strategy guide that’s nice to look over even when you’re not playing the guide.
   Instead, all of the lore is relegated to the 11 page “Story of Yarnham” section tacked on at the end; the “lore index” is a regular index, referencing the remaining 700+ pages that are pretty much solely focused on mechanically/tactically getting you through the game.
   For example, Chapter 2, which has all the maps and screen capped walkthough, doesn’t have a summary page of showing the location artistically and summarizing its history. Instead, you get a single paragraph that either illustrates what happens in the game as you enter, or offers up some creative-writing-esque storytelling narration.
   The bestiary in Chapter 3 describes enemies entirely from a gaming perspective, even the boss characters that do have as much as what can be called a “backstory” given how very little plot exposition the game has as a whole. This book will give you a visually illustrated step-by-step guide to defeating them, but has nothing to offer on explaining who/what they are.
   Kind of a bummer that the strategy guide missed the opportunity to be a Final Fantasy Ultimania style guide to Bloodborne that’s better than the Fandom wiki and instead settled on just being a very high quality printed IGN.com walkthrough.

6. Welcome home, good Hunter
   In typical Future Press fashion the book and it’s contents are of the absolute highest quality. Practically every single aspect of the game is meticulously detailed here, and it includes some great little bonuses like a lengthy interview with Miyazaki-san, and a nice collection of concept art. Couldn’t ask for more from a strategy guide.
   I received mine undamaged and in immaculate condition, but judging from other reviews here and the very lazy packaging (just a couple pieces of brown paper stuffed around the book in a box much too big for it) that was more of a fluke than anything. Considering that this is a limited edition item and replacements may not be possible, Amazon desperately needs to do a better job packaging these books. I’ve had a couple other Future Press guides from them arrive with dinged corners, but thankfully nothing quite as major as some of these other review’s pictures I’ve seen.
   Do better, Amazon. You’ve figured out how to ship vinyl records safely, surely you can do the same for books – it’s not as if this entire company started out as an online bookstore… right?

7. Must-have for any Hunter
   I noticed some of the reviews; before I got my copy, said theirs came beat up but the book itself was amazing. I must have gotten really lucky cuz mine isn’t beat up at all! I do feel bad for everyone whose book came kinda messed up though. But, the book is incredible. Huge, beautiful, informative and every Bloodborne fans dream. Now if we can just get a remake/port.. we’d be feasting, fellow hunters!
