IMO This helped me pass on the first attempt.
I often prefer video-based training when preparing for a CompTIA Exam. This book and Practice exam was a pleasant surprise and was a great tool for preparing to pass the Exam. I did use other training materials. However, IMO, this was the best resource that helped me pass the Project+ exam on the first attempt. Check out YouTube reviews and see for yourself that the Sybex book is mentioned for this exam by several content creators.I am not an avid reader, but this was invaluable to me.
Used to Successfully Prep for Exam
I used this book, along with the online study materials that it provides, to prepare for the Project+ exam. It allowed me to pass the exam on my first try. This is not the most exciting material in the world but the author does her best to make it interesting and provides lots of real-world examples of whatever topics she is covering.I’d highly recommend it to anyone who wants to get this cert knocked out. Make sure you put in the work and read the book thoroughly and use the practice exams.
Stay on topic using correct terms
There seems to be a lot of flip flop in this book on terms. In chapter 5, we’re talking about Agile/sprints and in the first paragraph it’s pointed out that Agile sprints are similar to iterations. However, even though we are talking about agile the author keeps flip flopping between the term sprint and iteration. This is confusing as heck. Just keep using the term sprint, instead of iteration (4x’s) in a row and then throwing the word sprint back out just for the randomness of it.This is one example of many of this consistent problem in reading this book. It’s a hard read because of the unnecessary swapping of terms that mean the same thing.
