  1. Understands True Singularity
Although my review may deserve a low rating, I give this book a shaky 5 because I didn’t understand a lot of the technological aspects,… a lot I avoided entirely as it seemed to be looking into the mind of darkness, and also way above my head. I found myself wanting to comfort myself as I read. And I haven’t finished yet.But then darkness can be a solid backdrop to magnify Light.Although the adversary has nearly from the beginning sought to overcome or be Yahweh, trying to replicate or improve what only God has created, perhaps even seeking to eliminate and replace native humanity, his “creation” is already doomed to burn. He is only used toward the showing of the True Light.I am reminded that if “they” knew what the purpose of God was, if “they” had understood how God works, they would not have crucified the Lord of Glory… their work of crucifying our Lord only unleashed a Multiplied Life rather than extinguishing the One Life.In light of the prophesied great wonders and signs, I am also reminded that some will say “here is the Christ” or “there is the Christ”,… but “don’t you go”, because He will come in greatness and glory and every eye will see Him…. and we set our eyes on Him, and we see Jesus. The author seems very gifted, witty, intelligent, and a brother in the Lord. I appreciate that he has experienced the Grace and Love of God. Lately, Mr. A. Beggs said something like “All we ourselves bring to our Salvation is our sin…” The Lord, He is All the rest… we gain Him.This book is a bugger for we non-technological people, however, as I understand that machines are only as well-intended (or not) as the people feeding into them, so are books, I will attempt to read a part of this book at a time because I think the one who wrote the book is well intended… and Gifted.2nd updateBeing 2/3 through the book now, it is worth getting there, and I am looking forward to his 55 points and his note section looks delicious.

  2. Joe Allen is a message bearer for our time.
Joe Allen’s Dark Æon meets this cultural moment dead on. It’s a remarkable unveiling of our collective Frankenstein, a polemic on how our emergent technologies and digital selves now rule our human interactions and lives, draining them of their humanity. There’s a convincing argument here with much detail on the real cost of marrying the qualitative aspects of being human with materializing technologies. For example, Allen shows how, individually, we are dangerously attached to our devices—our smartphones, computers, enhancement technologies, social media, and algorithm-driven decision making and gadgets. Meanwhile, collectively, the rise of AGI, robotics technology, brain-computer interfaces, AI-driven warfare, life extension technologies, bio-identification, gene editing, mass surveillance systems and more marks our active transition from homo sapiens, the human being, to homo deus, the man god. While revealing the stakes, Allen asserts we’re acting with hubris and need to set limits immediately for ourselves and future generations. At the heart of his argument is a dark accounting of the spiritual cost of digitizing our lives. You’ll discover here how transhumanist and inverted Gnostic worldviews drive the tech world forward in ways that sever people from their Creator. . .and each other. Allen himself is a qualified and likable narrator. Many years as a journalist and arena rigger at worldwide entertainment venues supplement his academic background in cognitive science and theology. As a bonus, this author writes in a highly engaging style, employing hard data and much humor. He’s spent years exploring this subject, so he’s a writer who has my full attention and respect.Dark Æon is an important, ground-breaking book. Get it. Read it. Then let’s live by its hopeful appendix.

This subject was new to me and I wanted to learn. This book explain what transhumanism is and also how dangerous is. Highly recommend this book.

  4. Must Read – Very Well Done
Joe Allen has provided a wealth of invaluable information in Dark Aeon that everyone needs to know. He combines some interesting historical information and some humor with irreplaceable insights and facts. It is well written and easy to read. We can’t have our heads in the sand. This is real and its serious. Transhumanism is basically the next big technological surge. It is upon us and coming at an an ever accelerating speed. We all need to be knowledgeable and assertive to push back. A very few people, many with bad or even evil intentions, are forcing a future on us all that the vast majority of people won’t want. After reading Dark Aeon you will be armed with knowledge and able to see the world in a whole light. Invest the time and money. You won’t regret it. I can’t recommend this highly enough.

A lot of information in this book. I can only read it so long before letting my mind work through and understand what I’ve read.

  8. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER
This book is SO well written and must read for everyone. Not sure the age would I recommend to read this as it depends on the child/person. It written in a way most older students and adults should be able to understand. I’m on my second reading of the book. You should know where we are headed with all this technology. THIS BOOK WALKS YOU THROUGH IT ALL!

  9. As the headline says, Joe Allen put together the ultimate guide to help those who aren’t aware of or cannot grasp what is currently being rolled out insofar as the AI and post-human (revolution) onslaught is concerned. Mr Allen’s book is clear, concise, well written and above all designed for the layman and academic alike. Each chapter can also be read separately if one wants to focus on specific subjects that one is more interesting in or less cognizant of. It’s an understatement to say that Joe Allen’s book Dark Aeon comes at a crucial time in history and may well become one of those influential books that help and guide us through what is quickly becoming a very urgent situation for mankind. Full marks for this well researched work.
