  1. Book is great, seller shipped a defective copy
I remember pouring over these postmortems in days gone by, and have always been struck by how poorly the game industry learns it’s lessons. So many of the errors mentioned in this book still happen today, except the impact is magnified as budgets balloon to the hundreds of millions of dollars. There’s no doubt the content is old but there is a lot of potential in the book to guide teams to not making dumb mistakes.I am knocking off a star because the seller shipped a copy which was clearly defective. In this case the cover was misaligned on the cut so while the inside looks fine to light inspection, the cover is a mess.

  2. Great read
Great read. I’m interested in late 90’s, and early 2000’s games and this didn’t disappoint!

  3. Interesting
It’s enjoyable to read this, to know what’s behind the games. But it doesn’t go deep, neither with the people like the Two John book, neither technically.

  4. A look at the real nuts and bolts…
I’ve read several game design books, including Mike McShaffry’s

  5. Great book. Learn other peoples hard lessons… Informative war stories
Both my partner and I treasure the wealth of information available between the covers of this book. We are making the difficult shift from TV production to game production and it is fascinating to see where other teams and their leaders got things wrong and right. With great examples from a wide variety of games (Some that we personally love playing) there is a well rounded selection.I hate to use the term “must have” but… this book is a must have for anybody in or wanting to be in the game industry.
