  1. This is an outstanding survey of the entire field of visual arts.
The author does a great job of summarizing for the non-professional, how to effectively use all the key tools in visual arts: presentations, images, photography, audio, video and motion graphics. He even included an in-depth chapter on how to be interviewed in person or on-camera, as well as how to structure an interview if you are the host. This contains a wealth of excellent information, highly-illustrated and clearly written, that would benefit anyone seeking to improve the quality of their communications.

  2. The author, Larry Jordon, is a great teacher.
I bought this book because I know how good Larry Jordon is as a teacher. I had produced and hosted a YouTube music show. I took Larry Jordon’s video class on learning how to use Apple’s “Final Cut Pro”. Not sure if I would have produced one show let alone 100. I’m already learning things from this book that I didn’t know.

  3. Techniques for looking at a visual situations
I like the author, his grasp of visual mechanics and the language of producing memorable visuals is nothing short of amazing. It consists of a very well thought out and concise grasp of both the mechanics and psychology of what one does visually. This knowledge allows one to produce memorable and lasting visual impressions…

  4. A few good enlightening bits with misc information filler
Some good chapters at the start. The other chapters felt more like basic information pertaining to various chapters. Kind of reads like a general media intro college class. Not bad if you needs basic intro note of a lot of different topics

  5. One of a kind book by an extraordinary author (Larry Jordan)
I purchased this book for two reasons: (1) It is the only book I know of on this subject (a subject at the heart of what I spend a lot of time doing) — creating persuasion videos; and (2) I know from the YouTube videos I have watched in which this author (Larry Jordan) explains how to solve video editing problems, that the author has an extraordinary ability to place problems in context and to explain clearly and concisely how to solve those problems. The opening pages of this book “persuade” me that Mr. Jordan has put his considerable experience, his keen intellect, his uncanny ability to explain things clearly, and his heart and soul into this book because the subject is near and dear to his heart … and so I look forward to studying and thinking about every page.

  6. Content Creation Made Easy!
This book is terrific! Communicating with images today is king. The focus of this book is effective and persuasive communication that allows anyone to create compelling visual content.People familiar with Larry Jordan will not be surprised by the detailed, comprehensive nature of this book. Larry’s knowledge and love of advertising, marketing and filmmaking shows on every page. What I like is the range of subjects – from business presentations to lighting, from fonts to photography, from stills to video – whatever you need to do, you’ll find clear, detailed explanations in Larry’s book. His instructions make perfect sense and seem obvious. Yet, when you read them you’ll think: “Yeah, why didn’t I think of that?”This book is an essential reference to improving how we tell stories with pictures and “create change.”Even the index is useful!

  7. This is a must read for anyone wanting to communicate though visual creation.
I have read books on visual creation and learning how to see. Larry Jordan takes you much further in the process of communicating to you intended audience no matter the tools you are using. This book is a must read for anyone wanting to communicate though visual creation. My father was a hobbyists in still photography and he understood exposure and taught me that at a young age. I have been a working pro in the field of visual production for over 25 years. Larry cut right to the points that will take your work to the next Leavell. Buy this book and LEARN.

  8. Too Elemental
I purchased this after reading the excellent reviews. I regret that I did not send it back. It’ may be good for beginners, but does not live up to the hype for anyone with professional experience. It also is not enlightening philosophically regardimngt how visual persuasion can be used to improve this rather crazy world we live in.
