The question is not if AI will affect us and our churches but when. Are you ready?
In this book, we will look at several areas that are being revolutionized by artificial intelligence, and we will seek to apply God’s wisdom to them. We will discover some of the great benefits AI will provide us in the future, but we will also see some of its dangers.
We will explore how AI is changing us as individuals, as families, and as a society. We will then see AI’s disruptive impact on our economy.
Next, we will look at how AI is changing war and even our notions of privacy and security.
We will conclude by examining what the future of AI might hold, how we are responsible for that future, and how we can move forward honoring God and loving our neighbors as ourselves. Let’s explore together how to navigate the age of AI.
—Jason Thacker
What Others Are Saying
Russell Moore
president, Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission
“No ethical issue keeps me up at night as does the question of artificial intelligence. The reason for my dismay is that the church doesn’t seem to be thinking very deeply about these matters at all, even as we move into a technological revolution that could prove to be Gutenberg-level in its implications. This book is a balm for anxiety in the age of technological disruption. No evangelical has thought and written more clearly on these matters than Jason Thacker. In this monumental work, he avoids both naivete and paranoia about AI. The years ahead will require wise Christians in a time of smart robots. This book shows the way.”
Jeb Bush
former governor of Florida
“Harnessing technology in our world, especially in education and medicine, can help us live productive and fulfilling lives. Yet Thacker reminds us that we must learn to do so in ways that glorify God and protect the innocent among us. Great read for parents!”

Trillia Newbell
author, Sacred Endurance, If God Is for Us, and Fear and Faith
“There are some things you don’t know you need until it’s too late. What Jason Thacker has done in this work is prepare us for a future where we will need to think clearly and biblically about artificial intelligence. The Age of AI is a book for our time as the use of AI is rapidly advancing. It is deeply researched but accessible to the average reader, theologically rich, and filled with wise counsel. I’m grateful for this book.”
Pat Gelsinger
CEO VMware; founder, Transforming the Bay with Christ; author, The Juggling Act
“Technology rightly applied can be powerful for humanity and the church. AI is challenging us to consider carefully how it can be shaped for God’s kingdom and to understand its risks. Jason puts all of this into historical and scriptural context for each of us to deepen our insights into this critical topic.”

Informative. Biblical. Mindful.
The Age of AI was a great read for understanding the ethics and biblical approach to technology, especially artificial intelligence. I highly recommend this resource for students of technology and beginners alike. With AI gaining steam in use and popularity, I hope Jason continues contributing to the thought leadership on ethics of AI application and how to use technology for human flourishing.
A great read for those in the pew and the pulpit
A very helpful book that seeks to help the average Christian understand the basics of what AI is and how we should think about it in light of what scripture teaches. This books is very accessible to readers without a formal theological education but is also thought provoking for students of all backgrounds.I commend Thacker because he seeks to show how AI technology can be a great help to society and how like many technologies it is a blessing from God. Thacker appropriately warns us of dangers of AI while emphasizing that humans are created in the âimage of Godâ.This is a great treatment of the topic in under 200 pages. I would like to see a larger work with more detail in the future.
Insightful and Practical
This book is thoughtful and filled with practical wisdom for the present and the future. Thacker explains AI in a way that anyone can understand, and he examines the way it could affect a variety of areas in our lives and societies. There is something here for everyone, and this book will serve as a helpful guide for years to come.
Provides Basic Insight into A.I.
The book is okay if you’re interested in A.I. 101. It neither addresses the dynamics of this technology nor reveal much about its impact in the future.
Great Introduction to the world of AI
Highly recommend Jason’s book. Well-written and clear. It is worth your time to consider what he has to say about AI from a Christain perspective and for its voice of hope!
A great addition to Christian tech books
A fine introduction to the issues and intersections of AI, theology, and ethics for those who are looking for a place to start. Itâs brief and very readable! The chapter on privacy adds much needed treatment to an underdeveloped body of writing and thought on the subject from a Christian perspective.
Fantastic book!
Jason wrote an excellent book to help us think through the implications of the rapid development of AI. I would highly recommend the book to anyone looking to learn more about AI and what it means for the world.
A helpful overview
This book provides a helpful high level overview of AI and how Christians can think through its uses and ethical implications.
Is really good overview about a topic we should think more about, but often donât. Easy to read for non English mother tounge speakers.
Artificial intelligence is not a topic that I’ve looked into much, I’m not great with technology. But this is an area that Christians must become aware of and engage with.In this book you’ll hear of some of the progresses that have been made with AI, it goes much wider than one might initially think. AI is involved in banking, medicine, warfare, work and even in our homes. So it’s pretty important! This book explores the benefits, limitations and dangers of AI. The fundamental conviction is that people are made in the image of God and the whole book stems from this. Thacker engages with those who think that one day AI will surpass its human creators and deals graciously with the lack of understanding about the beginnings of humanity. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would recommend it to you 🙂
