I appreciate how the book thoroughly contextualizes its premise, ensuring the reader fully understands what follows. Before detailing his framework, Mr. Myers lays a strong foundation by explaining the principles behind his approach. He also provides rich histories of key technological advances, culture-shifting events, and major trends that have shaped our present environmentâdemonstrating why his perspective is relevant and essential for todayâs business landscape and significant challenges.

THE Leadership book for the Age of AI
If you are in a leadership position of any entity, this is a must-read book. We have all read the great leadership books of the recent past. Many of them have been insightful and applicable, but none of them incorporate the next big thing, which is Artificial Intelligence. As a futurist, I have written and spoken about the new age we have all entered: The Age of Intelligence. Myers clearly knows this and puts forth the premise that everything relative to leadership has changed. Combining this vision through the ancient wisdom of Taoism and the I Ching is a brilliant way to frame the necessary rules and truths for leadership in the Age of Intelligence [this reviewer is biased as I have a now 50-year-old copy of the Tao The Ching and wondered if it could ever apply to the modern-day corporation]. Myers does this brilliantly. While reading this book my thought was that this book is the only book a leader ever needs to read for today and tomorrow.
Serious Concerns About The Future of Leadership
In The Tao of Leadership, author Jack Myers earns kudos for his attempt to create a sort of spiritual treatise on the future of leadership using a strange yet sincere approach akin to deciphering an indecipherable koanâbut let’s be clear: knowing what we now know about Elon Musk and his $277 million purchase of the 2025 Trump presidency, even the faintest understanding of irony would reveal that any book that claims, even in passing as Myers does, that Elon Musk is a leader–and a “visionary leader” at that–is a book to be somewhat wary of (in this reviewer’s book).

Jack shows how leadership really works
Too often leadership is confused with management. People and organizations want to be lead and the more authentic and sincere the leadership the more likely the people and the organization will thrive. People also confuse leadership with authority. Jack shows that you gain control by giving control. In a data driven technocracy we need more perspective like this.
Thought-Provoking Read!
Jack Myers deserves a standing ovation for THE TAO OF LEADERSHIP. For bringing the best of who and what we are as humans in a sane, grounded, and ultimately calming way for a person daunted and terrified by the future that seems to be heading our way. I felt my shoulders drop, my breath slow, and my interest surge throughout this wonderfully written, wise, and smart guide to creating, leading, and thriving in our ever-changing world. Thought-provoking, inspirational, and well-done! I can now take advantage of the potential with more information and perspective from a deep thinker who can write clearly for us tech-competent, but nowhere near adept. I received a copy of this book and these opinions are my own, unbiased thoughts.
Inspiration for Academics!
As an academic who teaches a graduate-level course, Iâm always looking for new sources of inspiration to share with talented young people. I found Jackâs book insightful and a quick read that can inspire students. “The Tao of Leadership” is a must-read for anyone navigating the unfolding complexities of the AI era and the need to attempt to break down the many changes it will bring for young people! Thank you, Jack, for providing a fresh perspective and practical strategies for navigating leadership in this new era.
