  1. Masterful
I’ve read a number of Marc’s books now. He is a very good writer and takes the reader into a character’s world to a depth few can accomplish.Shadow of the Dragon is a masterful continuation of the Jack Ryan books, with John Clark and the other characters from Tom Clancy’s heritage. I haven’t read all the books in the Jack Ryan series, but all the John Clark books by Clancy. You could say I’m a fan. As a Vietnam Vet, I first identified with Clancy’s John Clark in With No Remorse, in part due to my ship playing a role in a part of the book.Since then, I’ve read as much of the continuation of Clancy’s universe as I can fit in my TBR list.Marc Cameron became my favorite Clancy author. He must use exhaustive research, as well as drawing from his long experience. He knows his weapons. He knows operations. He understands the government agencies in play and how they are managed. He draws heavily on this in brining the story along.Throughout the book, I was impressed with how well Marc merged current events and geo-political relationships into a well-crafted, solid story. You will read this and think this is what’s happening today in our world.Thank you, Marc, for a great, entertaining read. I recommend this for anyone interested in the Clancy universe. Even those of you who only heard of it.Get it. Read it. Enjoy!

  2. A good read again.
This book was more like Tom Clancy’s earlier books. This story had references to multiple previous books and characters. I also liked how much of the story was finished in the last chapter. It was nice to not want to put a book down again.

  3. Good read, not a big fan of writers taking over for the original one, but this was a pretty good jo
Lots of good info, and I am sure you all are still doing a lot of research for the book. As a writer of non fiction research or a good knowledge of your subject is critical. Mr, Clancy was not always spot But in his books either. But I never knew until he got into my specialty of explosives like grenades and such. But it made me suspect his other books, but it was still a very good read every time. You ventured into a lot of technical areas in this book, but seemed to keep in the realm of believability very well. Great job.

  4. Excellent action adventure story
This is a very good story that I had a hard time putting down. The bad guys were very bad, and the good guys were very good. I like the way the escapes were handled. The writing was excellent. I highly recommend this book and series.

  5. very good
Actionpacked and well written. Love this type of plott and style. Read all the books as son as the are available.

  6. Clark is now 75? Ryan in his 4th term?
I really liked this book and it was really well-researched. It’s hard to put it down once you get to the last 100 pages. Deep dive into culture and how the ChiComms subjugate ethnic groups and get away with it. Very real depiction and so believable. I’ll buy them as long as they produce them. However, as much Jack Ryan novels have been a part of my life for over 30 years, at some point his continuing on as POTUS (pre Smart phones) is starting to strain credulity. The books keep up with the tech but it has been many moons since he defeated Ed Kealty and lots has changed in the world. I believe I had my brand new IPhone 2 at that time. How much longer can Foley, Arnie, and the loyal crew go on? Clark is 75 now? Chavez is 50? Damn. They can work in a lot once Jack and Kathy are out of 1600. Challenges to the Campus. Jack actually going on missions. Jr getting involved in politics? It can go on forever. As much as I believe John Patrick. Ryan was the greatest POTUS who ever lived, all good things have to come to an end at some point.

  7. Not as good as others
The hendley group sets out to find a scientist who has created a system which makes a submarine’s noise undetectable. In the Bering sea, there seems to be a submarine in trouble and the scientist is aboard. The group is broken up into groups searching for a woman and her daughter. The CIA and FBI are searching for a mole who is giving secrets to China.I thought the book was too scattered. It seemed folks were all over the place and the book didn’t flow easily. Mr. Cameron is an excellent author, not sure what happened with this book. It’s just not up to his usual writing.

  8. Marc Cameron never disappoints
I really enjoyed this latest addition to the Jack Ryan books, and I am so glad Mr. Cameron has been tagged to continue this series. I have read all of Mr. Cameron’s books except the westerns ( on my kindle, unread) and I have enjoyed every one of them. This book was interesting, I found myself going to the internet to learn about the Uyghurs. I had read some but this inspired me to do more research. I loved that there seemed to be different stories going on that all intersected at the end, I really enjoyed action sequences. Interesting characters, good and bad.Mr. Cameron does not write a book that is not enjoyable. If you have not read his Jericho Quinn series and his Arliss Cutter series, you have some reading ahead of you. As far as continuing the Jack Ryan books and the Tom Clancy world of characters, I’m so relieved he has this!

  9. As always. Good story told well and a credit to a very good writer makes you want to read more.

  10. Excellent thriller…as always….Good book up to date with a good storylineOut of China which is on the forefront of theTabloids

  11. Weinig karakter ontwikkeling ( als ook in de vorige boeken – he blijft hopen.) Veel van hetzelfde. De helft van het boek beschrijft handelingen van bijfiguren.
