Texas Tech will obtain its most recent addition to the Public Art Collection thanks to a generous $150,000 present from the Texas Tech Credit score Union: A life-sized bronze statue of Raider Red.

Coming off the mascot program’s first Nationwide Cheerleaders Association’s nationwide championship, the statue will depict Raider Pink on his way to Jones AT&T Stadium and be situated on the southwest corner of Akron Avenue and Push of Champions close to the Frazier Alumni Pavilion.

“We are grateful for the aid of the Texas Tech Credit Union and its enthusiasm for Raider Purple,” said Texas Tech University President Lawrence Schovanec. “This statue will embody its generosity and the spirit of those people who have contributed to the 50-calendar year legacy of our mascot.”

The initiative for a Raider Red statue on campus started in the 1990s, and a fund from a few a long time of generous donors who resided with the Texas Tech Alumni Association will complement the credit union’s present.
